Most researchers wish to concentrate their efforts on specific targets, whether this be individual Lodges or Jurisdictions. To facilitate these efforts, data can be filtered by Jurisdiction to minimise the number of Charts and Lodges which have to be reviewed. The screen below can be used to set the filter criteria.
As an example, the researcher may wish to concentrate his or her researches to Lodges in East and West Lancashire. By using Set / Reset Data Filter and selecting both East Lancashire and West Lancashire from the list provided, all further actions on the database will be restricted to only those Charts containing Lodges in those Jurisdictions (see screen below). Furthermore, the View Record Details option will show only those Lodges administered by the selected Jurisdictions.
When a filter is active, a message is displayed on the Main Menu to advise the user of this fact. To remove all filters, re-select the Set / Reset Data Filter command from the Main Menu and click firstly on the Clear Filter command button and secondly on the Accept command button. The message on the Main Menu will also be removed.
